I am just feeling so discouraged. I had my surgery on December 27 and I have not lost a single pound. WTH? I have a 10cc band and they put 3cc in it at the time of surgery.

When I went in for my post-op appt last week, my doctor told me not to worry about it - I would be thrilled with the results the next time I am in to see him.

Well that is Feb. 8th - which is right around the corner and I am still not loosing. I am so disappointed and I fear I am going to disapoint him or they will think I am cheating. AND I AM NOT!

I am tracking everything I put in my mouth on myfitnesspal iphone app and I average around 1000 - 1300 calories a/day.

I drink at least 64 ounces of Water (probably more).

I just got released to excercise and this week have been doing 10 minutes/day on my elliptical. Each week I can increase by 5 minutes.

I really feel like I am doing everything right but the scale will not move. Up one pound, down one pound, up one pound, down one pound. Same process for the last two weeks.

I know I need to quit weighing myself so much but I can't stop. The more it doesn't move the more obsessed I get. I thought one to two pounds per week is average??? Not for me, I guess.

Anyway, any help would be appreciated. Should I call my nutritionist?

I am truly experiencing some major bandster blues.

Try keeping you calories at about 1200-1300 a day from what I have heard anything under 1200 the body goes into satrvation and starts to store fat cells.. Good Luck

Maybe your Protein intake isn't high enough? My Dr. stressed Protein and I've read a few posts of people who were stuck until they upped the protein. Also if you didn't exercise before you may be building muscle which weighs more than fat. With exercise you'll need more protein or your body is gonna think you're starving it and it'll hang on to every calorie it gets. Good luck.

Michelle-

I was banded on 12/27 too! My next appointment is 2/7, right before yours. You are riight, you need to stop obsessing about the scale. Weigh yourself only once a week around the same time and record it. Also continue to keep your food journal, but make sure you are getting at least 60 grams of Protein per day.

I am excited too and want to see the pounds come off, but I was told by my surgeon that until my next appointment and I have my first fll, not to worry about losing weight, but learn to live with the band and continue healing. He also told me to only to weigh myself once a week. Patience I guess is the key right now. It will happen!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
