Hanging out! Any folks in NoVA

Recommended Posts

So tomorrow the weekend officially starts and I'm a bit bummed. I would like to hang with friends, go to the movies, DO SOMETHING. But now that I think about it, everything seems to involve food. I used to invite friends to Clydes for drinks BUT I CAN'T DRINK YET and I am afriad to get tempted. Does anybody else have this problem. Also, I don't want to stay in the house because, before banding, I used to eat at home due to boredom. I'm a bit frustrated. I guess after all, I do eat to live..trying to change that.

Also, any folks in NOVA, need some lap-band buddies!!

Hey there,

I am not in NoVa, but I do live in the Hampton Roads area. A few hours from you. I am also in the soft/mushy stage. I know how you feel, I don't hang out or go to bars. But, my family and I usually eat out at least once during the weekend. It's hard, right now because I can't eat regular foods yet. So, for now we have been eating everything at home.

If my hubby and the boys really want to eat out, they go without me :(

Just remember, this too shall pass. By February we will be free to come out the house :)

Hey! I live in NOVA, Lorton area. I can totally understand! My boyfriend and I would go out to eat every Friday and Saturday. During my pre op and post op (right after surgery) stage we held out in going, he was so supportive. Now I'm at a point where I can go out and eat and eat a little and still have that time with him. It'll pass...and quickly. Don't worry.

Tons of luck to you!

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
