My lap band surgery was October 25th and my first injection was Nov. 30th. Im ONLY 7lbs lighter. Why is that? I definitly need more restriction. Started with 5cc's. Next injection is Jan 4th. Could I be the only person in the world this surgery isn't working for? Am I just impatient. Im fustrated and getting sad. Advice please. Is it me? I know its early but theres always stories about people losing lots of weight by now. Anyone else out there in my shoes. Please tell me theres somekind of light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks.

I'm still waiting for my first fill scheduled for Dec. 29th so I can't offer much insight. Are you eating reduced portions? What sort of foods are you eating? Maybe post what your meals are on any given day would help not only you but those of us who can offer advice in seeing where the problem might be.

if you're 7 pounds lighter... the band IS working. you didn't gain the weight overnight, so you're not going to lose it overnight either!

you're actually lucky because some people GAIN weight the first month or so after surgery. be patient. the weight WILL come off. sometimes it takes more than 1 fill before you have enough restriction to really kick start the weightloss.

i know you're anxious, but relax : )

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
