Zoloft and Lap Band

I’ve recently started taking Zoloft and have really had a hard time with the pill. Zoloft is known to cause problems with the stomach (pain like taking too much aspirin) and boy has it caused me pain; a couple of times it was so bad I vomited!

I’ve tried taking it on an empty stomach with lots of water; on a full stomach; while I’m eating dinner – nothing really makes the pain go away, until the pill is completely dissolved! I’ve started trying to take it after dinner and before bedtime with a cup of something hot and that seems to help a little. Has anyone else experienced similar problems and found a solution? If so, I’d love to hear what you’ve done.

Hi,

I have had the same problems. I was banded June of 09 but didn't have a problem with my Zoloft until 6 months ago. I have found the worst thing you can do it drink a lot of Water with the pill. Never ever cut it in half. I talked to both of my drs about it. My Gastro said some medicine will do this. My regular dr graciously changed my prescription so that I have take 3 of the smallest dosage instead of 1 1/2 of the larger dose. This has really really helped. Feels like a fire has broken out in your chest, doesn't it?

Seach this site and you will find others have experience the same difficulties! Arghhh!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
