You couldnt of said it better! I too was on here several weeks ago struggling with bandster hell..I was posting and writing on my blog how frustrated I was and even though I was losing (slowly) it was sooo friggin hard! than I had my 3rd fill and it all just finally "clicked". I was banded on July 30th with no preop diet..I weighed in at 302...today a little over 4months later I am down to 254 and have lost 47lbs. I have gone from size 22 to a comfortable 18. I have lost a total from neck to calve...15 inches (yes i measured my neck :) ) so like you said all the people that are where we were just a short time ago need to keep the faith and know that it WILL get better and you just have to ride the waves until you get there! use that time to learn the band rules and start using them, start an exercise program so that by the time you do have restriction its already habit for you and the pounds will drop off even faster. I dont live at the gym. I go 3-4x a week and take an hour to an hour and half class each time and I now really enjoy going..I never thought I would like the gym. anyway..thanks for posting and congrats!!!

Just wanted to toot my own horn a lil and give all you newbies out there struggling in Bandster Hell right now hope that it WILL GET BETTER! As of today (drum roll please:lol:) I have lost 68 lbs in 20 weeks, half way to my goal weight! Yes, I include the 2 week liquid diet love affair I was forced into :). The first couple months after surgery were pure hell for me, I went through a bunch of self pity & questioned my decision to have the Lap Band but looking back now, every SECOND of my agony was worth THIS MOMENT!

The Facts:

I started my journey weighing 271 & am now down to 203. Onderland, here I come BABY!

My size 22 jeans were literally leaving bruises on me & am now wearing a size 14/16.

My shirt size has went from 2-3x to EXTRA LARGE and still comfortable!

My shoe size (yeah I know CRAZY huh) has went from a 9 1/2 to an 8 1/2.

My bra size has went for a 46 D to a 38 C.... keeping everything crossed that the C sticks around

I know many others have had even more success than me & some are at a slower pace but I AM SO HAPPY with my results! I recently had my 5th fill and I think I may have finally hit that sweet spot, I just have to get my mind in motion to accept that 1/4-1/2 cup food for a meal really is all I need & I won't starve... It's getting easier everyday though.

Anyhow, I really just wanted to give all you folks newly banded that are struggling such as I was, some hope to hang in there until your "tool" begins doing what it's suppose to. I'm definitely beginning to see it is getting easier though I know I will face many more struggles before reaching & maintaining my goal weight but at least there IS hope now!

Good Luck to us all! :crying:

I so enjoyed reading your post. I was banded 10/25/10 and have already had two fills. In the past 6 weeks I have had many ups and downs, but fortunately have not regretted my decision. I am very impatient though, and I was so happy this past Thursday with my second fill, when I finally felt some restriction. I am still trying to wrap my head around the fact that I am feeling this full by eating so little, my head is telling me that I have overeaten, when I know that I haven't because I am writing everything down. I certainly hope that in 14 more weeks I can be as close to my goal as you are. Way to go! Keep up the terrific job!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
