I had my GI series today. The preliminary report from radiologist says that my band has NOT SLIPPED OR TILTED in any way! woo hoo. He said that the surgeon may unfill me a bit or totally just to give things a rest. He said the opening of the stoma is almost too small and that the barium was 'hesitating' before flowing freely, thus my gurgling.

The drink stuff was not too bad or too much. I did have to eat these dry granules and then swallow Water. It was like eating poprocks that smelled and tasted like rotten eggs. LOL I also like being lifted and lowered on the table. No one told me I would have an amusement park ride!

I will call surgeon in Thursday to see what the plan is.

I'm so glad you liked it. It was a horrible experience for me, but I'm so glad you got through it.

The pop rocks thing came in liquid form for me...It was so bizaare having it, right?

I was wondering today how it went, thanks for updating us! So glad to see everything is okey dokey with you

Tracy, you are a hoot!!! I am happy all is where it should be. I am having a scope Monday and will be interested to see if all is well after months of being too tight with reflux and barfing.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
