My BMI is now in the 30's!

Recommended Posts

Wohoo! I went for a fill yesterday and my surgeon told me that my BMI is now 39! I have a longggg way to go, but it's the small things that keep me going!

My next goal is to get my BMI down to 35, which means I've got to lose about another 15 kilos.

This is all so exciting and it's happened in under 2 months! :)

My BMI started at 45.

What did your BMI start as, and what are you up to now?

Thanks :-D

I feel great! My boobies are getting saggy, but it doesn't bother me...No one's really going to be looking at those besides my fiancee and he doesn't mind.

Speaking of which, my ring is getting a little loose! Woohoo! :(

Wren...on the boobies issues. Give it time once you get to goal. I'll be 55 in two weeks and after losing all the weight they looked like tube socks with tennis balls in the toes. I made sure that every waking hour I wore a good stable bra. Two years later they are sitting up nice a pretty. Never thought it would happen but I attribute it to a good underwire and 3lb weight exercises each day.

And, on the skinny thing. (Not offended, thank you). I am actually at a pretty good weight for me. I am very smalled boned and weigh about what I did 31 yrs ago today on our wedding day. After getting to goal and upping my calories, my body just got back to it always used to be. I had such a sucky metabolism during menopause and now it's freakishly the other way. I'll take it though.

I just use the word skinny as a 'gotten to goal weight' type of thing :rolleyes2: Someday I'll be skinny, but not 'skinny', if that makes sense.

On the boobies issue: I dunno how I'm going to feel in a year but at the moment it doesn't really bother me. I went into a changeroom after aqua aerobics about a week ago and there was an old lady in there that had nicer knockers than me...I felt really happy for her and it kind of made me giggle...I'm not sure why it doesn't bother me...Maybe because I know that no one will be looking at them besides me and my partner.

My best friend is getting a boob job next year...This is after two rounds of liposuction. I just don't get why she can't wear a padded push up bra? It's not like she's going topless or that she goes swimming. I support her regardless and think it might have something to do with her confidence and her partner finding her as attractive as when they first met...It's not much of an issue for me, but having firm tatas will be a bonus in the future if they ever do harden up a bit.

Cheers

I am in an over 30 yr marraige and hubby thought I was cute at any weight. Sometimes I think the acceptance of ones own body is a reflection on being in a loving relationship.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
