Hello all, Just wanted to say hello to everyone here! I was banded 05-18-05 by Dr. Ponce in Dalton, Georgia. I live in Chatsworth which is just south of Chattanooga. I really love the band and I guess have done fairly well. I started at 260 day of surgery and now down to 223 which the drs office say is good as they prefer me to lose only 1-2 lbs per week and I know that this is weight I WILL NOT have again. My question is I try to eat the Protein 1st then maybe a few veggies if still room. But I feel I am not losing I read the post here and on other sites and everyone seems to be way ahead of me at this point any suggestions and also can anyone give me some ideas for differnet meals as I am beginning to get real bored with the same old meals. All help greatly appreciated. Thanks to any and all that reply.Have a wonderful day.

Oh yeah I exercise 4-5 times a week ride a stationary bike 20 minutes, walk on treadmill 20 minutes and the a few free weights

Happy losing to all!!

Tina

Hi Tina, welcome to LBT!!

Let's see, you've lost almost 40 lbs in a little over 7 months, which is between 5 and 6 lbs a month. That's right on target!! There will be times of faster loss and times of slower loss, but overall your average is right where it should be.

If you want to post what you are eating, I'm sure you'll get lots of ideas and comments. It's easy to get into a rut when you can't eat much at one sitting, I know.

Tina, HI! I'm sort of new to all of this, seeing as how my DW was just banded yesterday, Dec 28th. As I was reading your post I was thinking to myself that as long as the scale is going down, why worry about how FAST it is going down. Live your life as you please, eat what you please (mostly) and worry about it when the scale starts going up. As I've told MsJoy, it took you 30 years to put on the extra weight, give yourself some time to lose it.

Yes I am very thankful that the scales are going down because I have been on the other side way to often but not any more. Everyone tells me slow is better but yes I wish I would wake up tomorrow and be at goal. I guess I should look at it as I only have about 60 to go now not 100.:)

I know that I am really fortunate as there are many people still trying to get this wonderful procedure. It really has been a saving procedure for me. Just keep praying that the scales start moving again. I go on the 4th of January 2006 for my 4th fill. I hope that this is the one. Plus really need to get back to working out everday these holiday get togethers have really messed up my workout.

I hope everyone has a safe a happy(losin) year

Tina

Shoot, hon, I believe you've got what it takes to do whatever it is that you want to do. Even exercise during the holidays. But everyone needs some time off. You'll get there. I know you will.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
