I was banded on September 13th. I am still in my mushy stage. I lost 13.5 lbs in the first 2 weeks. Since then I haven't lost anything. I weigh everyday (which I know I shouldn't). Am I just being impatient???

Yes you are... lol. No, but seriously, I'm not an expert, but I'm about a week and a half further along the road. You will sometimes see lots of loss at the beginning because of all the fluids and since we're usually on liquid diets/mush those first couple of weeks. Your body is repairing itself and you suddenly are taking in a lot less calories than normal. Once your body starts getting used to the small amount of calories, it starts to be much more efficient with energy usage and you stall out with the weight loss.

Some wise little birdies here on the forum that have more experience told me that more of the loss starts to come after the fills start...so I'm looking forward to that

I did, however, make sure I wasn't using a lot of carbs for my calories and have added exercising in and am seeing the dropping in weight again....in inches and in pounds.

I would say it's normal. I have had only one fill and am loosing maybe a pound a week. From my consult to surgery (7 months) I lost 52 pounds and I do an hour of cardio a day. So I don't know if my less than a pound loss per week is due to 1)not yet having restriction, 2) having lost weight pre surgery and already being in diet drudgery.

I had surgery aug 24 2010

lost 18 lbs 1st week and gained 5 2nd week, i was eating mush but it was more carbs than should have (carbs turn to sugar in your body) i have not weighed since

i figure i am hanging between 23 and 30 lbs lost and was getting very worried, than started reading here and my mind has been put at ease

now i know why i am still hungry all the time and can eat like i do not have a band at all now....which sucks.........so am looking forward to my first fill and hope to get restriction, i have not had any of the complications ppl have said, and from this forum have found out alot.

Hang in there

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
