Okay, tomorrow is my big day! I'm both excited :D and scared . The pre-op diet that I worried so much about wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be. The fact that I had to lose 29 pounds before surgery sure helped get in the right frame of mind to be faithful with it. I now find myself worrying about the surgery itself...that is goes well and with no complications. Trying to keep a positive attitude for the recovery process. May all other December Bandsters be well!

I'm getting banded tomorrow, Dec. 16th. I was only on a 5 day pre-op liquid diet. All has gone well and I'm looking forward to sharing our experiences as we move forward. Keep posting and sharing your success stories.

I was banded yesterday 12/16/2010. Everything went great! Very little discomfort. I'm walking around quite a bit to relieve the gas and all is going well. 15 pound weight loss from 5 day pre-op liquid diet.< /p>

Hi! I also was banded on the 8th of December. How are you doing? Have you lost any weight since banded? What did you start at? What have you been eating? Are you on solid foods yet? I would love to hear how you are doing!

Thanks!

Dawn

I had to do the same thing! I was banded on December 8th. I lost 27 pounds before my surgery. and only 5 since my banding. I am so disapointed! How are you doing? What are you eating? I would love to hear more infor on how you are doing!

Dawn

After months of waiting and anticipating, all the details/approvals/visits are done, and it's now less than two weeks till my surgery (Dec. 6th.) The Nutritionist has me on a high Protein, low carb preop diet to try and shrink my liver, so surgery will be easier. Did anyone else have this same process? How did it go for you?

And on another note, as I start to get even more excited anticipating surgery day, I'm wondering if anyone else is as spun-up about their surgery as I am about mine?

Dave

Hi J! Your user name is hilarious... I am cracking up laughing out loud :-)

I had my surgery on Dec 10th. The first week was rough for me. I have my hands full with my kids so that made it worse. My husband was great though! Hats off to him. I am 2 1/2 weeks out and I feel a million times better. Swelling is gone, starting to walk, stitches are still in but bandages are off. Things are looking good.

Don't be in a hurry to re-coop. Take your time! I did alot of laziness! Something I don't normally do too much.

Feel free to message me if you have questions! Congrats to us! 2011 will be a great year......

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
