How much in 11cc before restriction

Recommended Posts

how much in your 11cc band before you hit sweet spot. I am at 8.5 and not there yet just wondering about others.

I was about to ask the same question!

I have an 11cc band. Was at 10ccs and thought I'd found restriction, however that lasted about a week and I fell off the wagon and was able to eat more than I should. I had some restriction but felt I wasn't there yet.

I had another fill last night to take me to 11ccs. I asked my doctor about what happens if I don't get restriction at 11ccs and he said that he would keep filling until I did. He has one patient with 18ccs in her 11cc band!

So sorry I don't have an answer and I think everyone is different but 10ccs wasn't enough for me!

This is so, so variable. At about 8.5 cc, I started feeling some restriction. But it's taken me 3 fills on top of that to hit what I think is my sweet spot. I actually haven't asked how much is in my band for the last few fills, so I don't know exactly how much---but they have been significantly smaller than earlier fills; I'd guess I'm around 9.5 cc, maybe 10.

thank you I just was wondering if something was wrong. If others have had larger fills then I am secure in the fact everything is fine it just will take a little longer. Again thank you for responding. I know everyone is different but hadnt heard anyone past 8.5 in 11 band and was wondering if something was wrong. Whew I feel better

I am sooooo glad that I see others at 9cc. Tomorrow will be my first day on mushies. I was banded a month ago and my doctor added 3cc per week into my band for the past 3 weeks. Today I was expecting them to take some out something as I transitioned from liquid to mushies but they said, I should be fine, just take it slow.

Again, glad to see that 9cc's is not out of the normal range.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
