I got a fill on Thursday, 1cc. I really had lost a lot of restriction but it had been about 2 months since my last fill and I had only lost 3lbs. When I left the office on Thursday I drank some Water right away and it hurt and came back up. Me being the stubborn and stupid person that I am figured, oh well it will loosen up!! Ha ya right. Anyway it is now Sunday and I can't drink any liquids, tea water etc... I am able to eat a very small amount of mushies, but Fluid will not stay down at all. Has this every happened to anyone, it just seems like the fluid is so thin it comes back up. I did call the doctor on call today and he said to give it another 24-48 hours. My opinion is that he just doesn't want to have to come in for an unfill this holiday weeked. Any suggestions would be helpful cause I am THIRSTY!!!

My doctor's rule is to notify him if more than 8 or so hours elapse without the ability to drink Fluid.< /p>

Can you suck on ice chips to get any Fluid down?

Be aware of the symptoms of dehydration and be ready for a trip to the ER or urgent care if things don't improve.

Symptoms:

  • dizziness
  • headache
  • dark urine (may have a strong odor)
  • inability to urinate
  • dry mouth and nose
  • weakness
  • nausea and vomiting

Don't mess around with it. If you start feeling any of the above, either call your doctor back or go get some fluids put in!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
