To fill or unfill?

Recommended Posts

Hello all, earlier in the week I had written about being filled and not being able to get down liquid without it hurting. Now it's Wednesday and I have been a little more successful with getting it down, but not completly, I have been able to eat soft foods and Soups and keep them down. But now I am confused, I made an appointment to get some of the fill out but since I have been eating should I re-think that decision? I still feel the need to burp and it's always a sour burp, so at night I am getting reflux. What do I do? I still feel the need to drink more liquids and that continues to be a problem, but food isn't. HELP!

at night I am getting reflux.

Personally I think you are too tight. This was discussed in another thread (see trouble sleeping thread) and the person there is also too tight.

I would call my surgeon and be honest with them about the symptoms I am having and get their recommendations.

Best of luck to ya!

Oh Paleeeeze, you know you need an unfill. If you could barely get down liquids and are still struggling...........unfill. Dont damage your band or health. Get an unfill.

If you can only get down soft foods or liquids you are WAY too tight.

I had this conversation with my Dr. today and he said that being too tight drives bad behavior. He would rather we be a little too loose but able to eat healthy food like hard Proteins, just a skosh too much, than too tight as it makes you eat poorly.

Honey, time to face facts. You are way too tight and you are potentially doing damage to your band by being too tight.

Thanks for the advice, I am going to the doctor tomorrow and I am going to make him do a little unfill. You are so right about eating unhealthy, I have been eating mashed potatoes, cheese curls and keish! (How healthy is that) I really can't wait to dig into a salad and eat some grapes and not have to worry that it's going to come back up.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
