Insurance approval

Recommended Posts

Hello! This is my first time to post anything on this site. I have been reading some of the post here since October. I was waiting to see if my insurance was going to cover the lapband for me. I found out this morning that they are going to cover it. :(

I am very excited, and would just like to say this site sure has been helpful.

Thank you all!!

I am also a new user on this site. I went for my consultation for my lapband on January 3, 2006. I was told that I have a 35.8 BMI and I have high blood pressure along with fatty liver, and a huge family history of diabetes. My insurance pays 90% of the surgery if I qualify, which the DR's office said that I do...so now the waiting game. I tell ya I am feeling a little wigged out about all these removals and erosion things i have read. I was under the impression that this was set in for life and that I would most likely have very few problems.

I have united health care insurance and the dr's office said that was their easiest carrier to work with. I hope so...keeping my fingers crossed!!!

I am 5'3.5 and 206 pounds. Joint pain on my ankles is unbearable. Everyone pray for me. :Bunny :)

Congratulations to both of you, and welcome to LBT!! You're both very lucky to have insurance carriers who cover the band. Being able to have your care nearby and not worrying about the cost of multiple visits, adjustments, exams or what-have-you makes ALL the difference. You'll both do great!! :)

Did your insurance company require 12 months of documentation for Dr. supported weight loss attempts? I know mine does and I wonder exactly wjat that entails..any info. would be much appreciated thanks.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
