have high riding band..need new one..

i'm going for new band...very sad...have high riding band...it moved up almost to bottom of esphogas...could hold on to food at all...feel like i m only one this has happened to,...

help...:confused:

Wow- sorry to hear you are having such a rough time. Take it one step at a time- at least they are able to keep you banded. Good luck!

It sounds as though you have what is commonly referred to as a slip. If you search the site for slip you will find lots of threads. Plenty of people here have had slips. Some have been fixed by unfilling the band for a couple of weeks, others by surgery to reposition, others by new bands and some have had their bands removed or converted to another type of surgery.

There are lots of reasons that bands slip. Sometimes they are not stitched in place or are positioned incorrectly by the surgeon. Often it is through eating ahead of the post op eating schedule and constant vomiting is another common cause.

So do a search using the term slip rather than 'high riding band" and I am sure you will find lots of info and support.
