Recommended Posts

Help!!!!!!! My date is set tomorrow (6th) and I have came down with a cold. So what are my chance that they will want to reschedule? I don't know that I can do the liquid diet any longer with out the band. I need some encouragement!!!!

Thanks

I am most likely over reacting.

I know you probably want to have your surgery ASAP, but I would call the Dr.'s office and see what they want you to do. You don't want to be sick while recovering from surgery :D

How bad is the cold? I got a chest cold while I was recovering from my surgery and it was miserable. Everytime I coughed it felt like someone was stabbing me. I was so afraid of tearing stiches, dislodging my band, and popping my incisions open. I would not reccomend it to anyone. Be upfront with your Doc and see what he/she suggests. Good luck! You've come this far, a couple of days more may be worth it......................

I had the sniffles the day before my surgery and was told as long as I had no fever, my chest sounded cleasr and I felt okay, they would do the surgery.

Thanks guys!! I am not running a temp, but I have a itchy sore throat which might be gone by tommorrow. I really don't have a cough, but every once and awhile if I talk to much I will get a dry cough. I would think my chest will be clear and I should be good to go. Keep your prayers that I will get it done.

Thanks again!!

I have found this site soooooo helpful

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
