I have tears in my eyes. I am so sorry you are enduring this. I have not been through this kind of stress since my band. I do know that food does not hold the same power over me as it once did. Now, "it's just food". BUT, you NEED nutrition so at least maybe get some Protein Shakes down or something? You need to maintain your strength. Sending hugs your way!

I think you need to find healthy habits that will help you grieve and then move on from your sisters death. Excersise is a great idea. You might also try journaling- just let the pen go and write down what your feeling. Don't be afraid to accept support from the people around you. The main thing is to not let your feelings get bottled up. Best wishes!

Stress is hard on my band too, try sticking with liquids, Soups and mushies if you can, you don't need a sliming/PB episode to go with everything else.

Please accept my sympathy for the loss of your sister.

oh, Gypsy, I'm so, so sorry for your loss. How devastating.

I, too, have lost a sibling; the pain is crushing. If you ever need an ear or shoulder, I'm here to talk.

I wish you the best under the circumstances. I am the mother of 15 year old twins - I feel your loss. Take care of yourself. I find that I eat when I'm stressed about "little things" the "big things" take my appetite away. Staying healthy and strong are the most important things right now. You have lots of time to worrry about the weight.

Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Agree with previous posts -- getting some hard core sweating in might help. Whatever you do, be sure to get lots of fluids and some Protein in to take care of you.

God's peace.............

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
