So my story is like this...my whole life overwieght, I was referred by my dr. back when I was like 25 for they gastric bypass...I knew I wanted it, but I wanted to keep trying to loose the wieght on my own..it always went down and then right back up...and so on..Now, Im 36 and Im 304 lbs...and I can no longer hide the fact that Im sooo uncomfortable in my own body...No matter how nice I dress, how I do my hair and makeup or how well I carry myself...Im tired, I have no energy...my feet hurt and I hate to see myself in pictures now...so, finally I got on My husbands insurance since he has a ppo and whats more this time is that he is being very supportive and he is even going to go thru this with me...He needs to love some weight too.

We went to the seminar July 7th, we have our upper endos..somthing and labwork on the July 21, 2010 and our sleep study on August 13, 2010...then we just wait for the approval from our Insurance company...Im hoping for it with ALL my heart now...I need this..really really this...

Good for you....taking the first step is the hardest!! I believe that this was also the best thing for me. I think that it is great that you and your husband are doing this journey together. I have had full support from my husband and kids....it makes a big difference when you have support!! Good luck to the both of you.....

Every day I get to step closer to getting everything together for the insurance company...then I will anxiously await for the approval....

Wow, I try to imagine my life as a thinner person...and I dont know how that would feel like..

Everyone who needs this surgery should be able to get it! Good luck to you! I had to self pay because my employer has all weight related health services excluded from their coverage. How stupid!! They would have to treat me for comorbids, so not paying to prevent them is just outrageous. So far - best money I've ever spent.

That really sucks that your insurance excludes over weight issues..But Im glad to hear that you did get and that your happy with it..

Hope to see some pics from you soon. I am having problems posting a weight ticker and some pictures but I have some ready. to post but i guess i will wait until i can have some before and after pics.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
