Glad it went ok for you Missnursette! Gas pain is a horrible pain but honestly, try the Gas-X strips...they work really well!

Hi everyone! I got banded on Friday the 23rd. I feel like an elephant landed on my chest. Ugh. Evidently I had to have a hiatal hernia fixed while the doc was in there and my liver "cracked" and I lost a little blood but everything else was good. The bleeding stopped on its own. Maybe that's why I feel so crummy...and oh ya it's only been 48 hours.

Good luck to everyone!

Hi Everyone!!!

I am doing so much better today. Walked around in the yard this afternoon. The gas pain is still there but not bad at all! I have been hungry though. I started my Protein Shakes today and that has helped. Everyday will get better!!!!!

I had my surgery on Wednesday July 21st. Today it is Sunday evening, July 25th and I've lost 7 pounds. I haven't felt hungry at all, until late this afternoon. It's all about getting in the necessary Protein shake(s) for me. How is everyone else banded on similar dates doing? Would love to hear your stories...

I was banded on the 21st as well Santeedoglover. I have been doing really well. I get hungry when I don't realize how many hours it has been since I last ate. I eat a lot of ice and I love my carnation instant Breakfast, carb conscience of course! I also add 3 tablespoons dry milk to the mix and it adds more Protein.

Does everyone have the same rules of only liquids for 2 weeks and nothing thicker than yoguart?

Mine was done on July 23. After a couple of hours resting My family and I went to a mall and walked around a bit-30 min or so. The second day I felt much better but today I'm the same as yesterday.

Does anyone have any aches and pains? Both of my calves hurt when I get up to walk. It goes away after I walk some. It doesn't hurt when I flex, nor do I see reddness or heat. Its just as if I exercised too much. Possibly the walking at the mall caused it.

And I have a difficult time taking a deep breath. Hiccupps hurt like heck.:bolt:

How long till I feel normal again?

Hello All your stories are amazing, I was banded on July 21, my surgery only took 45 minutes and I had a hernia repair...lol...the Dr. said my surgery went very well...I haven't weighed myself yet (I don't want to get obsessed with it) so im just concentrating on getting in my protiens and liquids...the gas pain are the only pains but I don't let it get to me...I do take my pain meds if it gets to painful and try to walk as much as possible...im so glad that I got the surgery (so far no regrets) =)....its nice when u have supporting friends and family like I do...I did attend a BBQ yesterday but it didn't phase me...I drank my protien shake and thought about my health...everyones story is wonderful and I enjoyed reading them..I pray that we all are successful in our weight loss and live healthier lives....I will keep everyone posted on my success....=)

Wow, surgery couldn't have gone any smoother for me!! Just one incision for the whole thing. I feel great. Just the normal stiffness. I can't wait to feel 100% on the inside so I can get past this part of journey and move on to regular foods with just smaller portions. I am ready for a normal life!!

Hope everyone is doing well. Today is day 6 post op for me and I have made some sugar free banana Jello and some potato Soup, which is basically Water and a bit of milk after I strain the potatoes and onions out of it. But I am looking so forward to a few bites of something other than jello!! I have been feeling a little down this week, but reading past post op threads, this seems to be normal. How is everyone else doing?

Glad to see everyone is doing well since their surgery. I am doing very well, only lingering incisional pain at the site of the port. Not too bad though. I see the doctor on Wednesday and hope to advance my diet. I am hungry!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
