Hey does anyone know where I can find a scale that goes over 300lbs? I am tired of waiting to weigh in at my dr's appointments once a month! I've tried looking online, but maybe I'm looking in all the wrong places...

I was told to get tanita scales that also do bmi, I've not researched them but they are supposed to be very accurate

The majority of the digital scales will go to 350 or more. Don't pay too much for something fancy because hopefully you won't need a special scale in the near future.

PuppyBandit,

I have a tanita (albiet an older model) and bought it for the BMI. I will say though, I'd have been just as good with a regular scale, that doesnt do BMI. It is very iffy, and I say there is no way I am 49.5 according to my scale at least the last time I weighed. Hmmm, I think I will go see now what it says. :)

Ok, I just weighed. According to my scale, I am 224.5 (I have already drank coffee and eaten today..so that is normal) and my BMI is ready??????? 49%. ALWAYS 49% and the last time I weighed at 240..it was 49%. SO I say, spend the money on a good digital, but don't worry about BMI. The lower your weight, the lower your BMI. Take it with a grain of salt!

We have a weight watchers scale that we got at bed bath and beyond and it weighs up to 400 pds. I think it was about $45.00. It has all the bells and whistles but we don't use them. It does save the previous weight for up to 3 people. Hope this helps.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
