Recommended Posts

Hey all its me chocolate Dream 81.

Today was my first fill appt. I was banded on May 17th 2010. I went in a little nervous but not too much. My Dr. came in and told me step by step what he was going to do... he gave me the numbing shot then the big needle went in and he drained it to see how much saline was in there then he put 3 ccs in. I immediately felt my heart flutter and began to have a slight panic attack... wow am I crazy?? I asked him was it normal to feel faint of heart and he told me I was fine, I guess to calm me down. Anyway I sipped the Water fine afterwards and left his office... on the way home my mom was driving and I yelled to her to pull over on the side of the freeway so I could get out cause my left arm was tingling and I thought I was having a heart attack... now please remember I am the same girl who had the big ordeal on my surgery morning where I told the surgeon I was not going to go through with it after they had wheeled me in the OR. I don't know if it was my nerves getting the best of me or what but I still feel my heart fluttering every couple hours now.. and I am back home... My mom says its cause I am haivng a panic attack episode and I saw how long the needle was when he was doing the fill when I should have not been looking.. I am NOT sure.... but now I am all worried about going to sleep tonight.. hope I wake up.... geez here we go again...... :tt1::confused::frown::frown: BTW I lost another 10 pounds today at weight in so I have lost a total of 31 total, in a month and a week or so.

Does sound like a panic attack. I can get a little panicky sometimes if I start to feel claustrophobic. I have to concentrate on breathing and sometimes I have to just get out of the situation. If you concentrate on in and out breathing it can take your mind off what is happening.

If you can't control it on your own then you should seek professional help before it gets worse.

So....did it hurt? Or was it just the sight of the needle that panicked you?

I never looked at the needle. Just put my arm over my eyes and waited for it to be over. Next time, don't look

Hi Everyone...

Yup... sounds like a panic attack. Have you had them before the banding incident? You should speak to your regular doctor about this and get a little support! they are no fun and you shouldn't suffer so badly.

I actually had an "unfill" at post op day #11 due to some problems, I'll admit, (even though I'm a nurse) when I saw that needle coming I thought "what the...." Wow... that's a big needle... however... it was only a tiny little pinch when it went in and when it goes into the port... you feel a tiny little "pop" with no pain what so ever. Weird feeling... but it was all ok!!!

I wish you well! GREAT weight loss... but wow... it's a bit too much since surgery!! That's a pound a day. Make sure you are having enough Protein, so you're not losing muscle instead of fat! Well done!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
