I am having some odd pains 3 months out

Recommended Posts

I was banded about three months ago and it has been non-eventful. Pretty much what I expected. total 7cc in a 14cc band at this time. Today I have been having a consistant cramping type pain. It is a sharp pain that goes away about as fast as it hits me. It is a little over 2 inches below my port. I was wondering if anyone else has had this.

Is it maybe from working out/ You may have pulled or twisted or just done something a bit harder or a bit different to usual and that could have caused it.

sounds like your constipated...happens a fair amount in new bandings...increase your Fiber or take an exlax and see if it doesnt go away after a good clean out.

I have an occasional pain on my left side, opposite of my port. My doctor said that even three months out (which is what I am, too) that your body is still not completely healed so if you do anything strenuous it can aggravate some of the internal workings because they did a lot of moving around in there.

But, I do agree that it comes and goes with Constipation, too.

I agree that even 3 months out, you're still not completely healed. I ended up in the ER almost three months out from intense abdominal pain. Turns out I had popped an internal stitch from coughing so much (I had bronchitis).

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
