I have an appt with my surgeon (who is 2 hours from my house) on Friday BUT....... is this normal? Also... I lost 23 pounds since my surgery on 4/7/10. Erin,

Welcome!

What kinda port pain are you having? I know my port hurts from time to time and I am about 3 weeks post op. I havent had my fill yet, but i have no restriction any more either. Just make sure you tell your fill dr that you feel no restriction. I am sure they will give you another fill as soon as they can.

Hey Erin! I am 6 months post op today! I still have port pain from time to time. If I move the wrong way, it can sometimes send a quick pain. Or sometimes, if I have been moving around a lot, it just kind of aches. For example, my husband and I are in the process of packing up our house. My port area was sore for about 2 days from packing and moving heavy boxes. And just last night, I moved just the wrong way, and ouch.

As far as your restriction, it is totally normal! I had ZERO restriction after my first fill. I had a little bit after my 2nd fill, then it went away. I had my third fill 2 weeks ago. I can definitely feel this one. It takes some time. Just be patient. I know its easier said than done! haha Good luck!!!!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
