Congratulations on not smoking that is wonderful. Already you added a few more days to your life  You should be proud that you were able to stop because thats hard. I myself have an addiction to sweets and already I have cheated and dipped my finger in my kids cupcake icing and ran my finger across the ice cream top for a taste.(more than once) Now today makes one week for me I was banded on 6/29 and I was also wanting to see a instant difference in my weight. I weighed in at 202 on the morning of surgery and today I'm at 196.9. Thats good I guess. I too don't know whether I'm hungry or not either. Also this liquid diet is getting on my last nerves especially since my mother is here visiting cooking all my favorites for her grandkids.I have too be strong or stronger than I hsve been and you too just focus and heal and you be be okay too.

I Just had my surgery on July 6th and I feel all of you. This site is really neat as it gives you different perspectives and i am finding them all very helpful. I am in the same boat as I am tired of the broths and Jello and tonight for the first time I felt hungry... I am just wondering did anyone have some good broths that they were eating?? I am tired of the vegetarian, chicken and beef...LOL...Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I bought the hot and spicy cup of noodles for .28 and only drank the liquid. I like spicy stuff and this made it easier to get the liquid in.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
