I was banded on May 27th and have had no problems. Nothing stuck, nothing hurting, no nausea... and i am following the rules carfully and I am amazed it has been working..

I lost about 15 pounds until I got to this soft phase and I am at a stand still.. but they say worry about healing not losing .. this bugs me.. because I am really working at it..( I am blaming my consitpation for no loss recently LOL )

Anyway... My first fill is July 12 and I am wondering if all this good fortune will change? Do you get stuck, have nausea, not be able to eat once this happens? I really love Pasta and have and it (1/3 cup) of Dreamfields that has 7 grms Protein. No problem... I don't want to give it up... I am italian!!

Any thoughts...??? How does it change after fills?

You may find that you don't tolerate some of the foods you did once you have some fills. For your sake- I hope it's not Pasta lol. You will also find you need to eat slower and chew your food really well. Good luck in your journey!

Hi,

I was banded May 4th and just had my first fill of 2.5 cc on June 9th. I feel a bit fuller when eating with no stuckeys so far and I have already tried many things. Pasta is fine for me but may be different for you. i wouldnt worry about it. On August 9th I go formy first xray(fluroscopy) guided fill and after that I think that will make a huge difference>

Good Luck!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
