We just got back from our trip to Disneyworld: I had posted that I was scared that they would make me get another seat: well, that wasnt even an issue: the arm seats went down no problem, I didnt need an extension this time and I was even able to really tighten the belt. I also only got stuck once the whole trip! It was very enlightening to see the different choices that I make with the band: I would have eaten soooo badly if not for my new BFF!

Thanks for all of your tips and encouragement!

I am taking a long trip to Europe. I just had my first fill and I'm leaving next Friday. Did you notice a difference in the band while you were flying? I, too, am worried about the seat thing. I've lost 23 lbs but it's not enough to eliminate the extension. I've very concerned about flying.

That's wonderful!!! Congratulations!

I'm scared to death myself. I'm flying out Monday to San Diego for a conference. I haven't flown in 5 years and although I've never had to use a seat belt extender, I'm scared I will now.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
