Problems with first fill

Recommended Posts

Hi All.

I had my first fill today a month after surgery. 4 cc's.

I ate lunch (can of tuna mushed and with mayo) about an hour and a half before that and felt fine.

About an hour after the fill i had a small sip of Water.< /p>

It's now 5 hours later and can't stop throwing up.

Too big of a fill? Does it have anything to do with the fact that I ate before that?

Should I be concerned or will it just pass overnight?

Thanx.

Hi

Ouch, sounds nasty. Were you not told to stay on fluids for two days after your fill? I just got my first fill, 3 cc, and was told to stay on liquids all that day then non-chunky, mushy stuff the next day. Maybe you just took it too fast. Hope everything works out. Always call your Dr. if things are feeling right.

Good luck.

You are supposed to be on liquids after a fill for at least a day. If you are stuck, or are in pain, go back to liquids for at least 12 hours. Your fill will settle down with time and will be ok. Hang in there and it will work its self out!!! I often don't know I am stuck until later. Sometimes after a whole night. It will be a learning experience!! It will be ok, trust in the process!! Hugs....

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
