I love to see everone's success stories and to hear all the hard work everyone has done to lose their weight. I was just banded on 55/28/10 and gained two pounds but I think it's all gas.

When looking at everyones stories it would be nice to include everyone's height so I can see better where I stand in the way of what to expect.

I am 5 and 8 and half inches tall. Going into surgery two days ago was 183 and now I'm 185. My goal would be 145 or 150. Is this a good goal for someone my height and weight? I am assuming it will be a slow loss.

Well I'm 5ft 10 and have settled at about 150. Its a pretty good weight I guess, I'd actually really love to be about 140 but here is where my weight seems to want to stay - well at least where it wants to stay given the balance of the long term lifestyle I'm prepared to live.

At 150, and being basically a pear shape, I have a very lean upper body, well, my neck/shoulders/chest and upper arms border on scrawny, but I have a little excess flesh on the lower body still. I'm an Australian size 12 to 14 which is about an 8 to 10 in US sizing. I'd generally only need that larger size sometimes for pants, with tops and Aline skirts, I can wear an Aussie 10 (size 6). I really wouldnt call myself "thin" more just "normal" compared to everyone around me - I mean I still feel big because I'm tall. But I think my body image may be a little skewed too, I have never known myself as anything other than large, although looking back I wasnt overweight as a child and I never reached a BMI of above 36 before I sought surgery.

So yeah, 150 should be easily achievable for 5ft 8, it'd be a healthy size but you really could go 15lb lower if you wanted to. And I found it was those last pounds that made the most difference :-)

I am 5'7" and my goal weight is 150. Anything lower than that will be gravy or frosting on the cake!

I'm 5'6' and was 259 pounds on the day of my banding on 4/15/10. My high though during the pre-op six month diet was 276. I weigh 236 now and my goal is 133.

I'm 5'6'' and want to weigh 155. Any lower than that and I look like I'm sickly.

Hi!

I was banded on 5/11/10 - 3 weeks ago! I was 315 2 weeks before pre-op... on op. day i was 302... I'm now at 288. won't have my first fill until 6/30.

I'm 5'8 1/2 " tall... will be thrilled when I get under 200 lbs... will be jubilant at 175.... anything lower than that will be the cherry on top!

GOOD LUCK!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
