I had surgery 9-28-09, I have gotten filled every month since. I was supposed to be at 9 cc's in a 10 cc band. I went a few days ago for my final fill. I told the doctor that I don't have the gurgling or feeling the Water pass through the stoma like I read on here from other bandsters. I don't think it was working to it's full potential. So I had him take out all the saline to make sure I didn't have a leak, he pulls out 7 cc's. So he decided to put 8 cc's back in. While he is filling my band, the needle breaks and saline goes all over my arm. So I don't know how many cc's I have right now but I am getting hungry about 3 hours after eating and before it was about every 5-6 hours. So I know I don't have as much as before. I have to wait another month to go back in for a fill but I don't know if I can wait that long. I've lost 15 lbs in the last 2 months so losing isn't a problem but if I'm eating more than before I know this will slow down. Has anyone else had this happen to them? How did you deal with it? :)

Oh, no! I'm sorry to hear that this happened to you. Hopefully you'll be back to your proper restriction next month. This is just one of those "ups and downs" of banded life, I guess.

On another note: why do you want your liquid to gurgle going down (or feel it)? It's my understanding that the band shouldn't be so tight as to restrict liquid in any way, and it sounds like those with a "gurgle" are almost too tight. I wouldn't base proper restriction on any feeling to do with liquids passing through your pouch. Just whether you can eat a small plate and feel satisfied, not be hungry in between meals and lose weight at an appropriate pace. But clearly, just my opinion.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
