Anyone from Maine?

Recommended Posts

It's neat to finally see someone here from Maine.

I am from MI but am totally in awe of the state of Maine. I think that the state has so much beauty and it really intrigues me.

We have toyed with the idea of moving there, and I have a ton of brochures about the state.

We were kind of drawn to the Camden/Rockport area. It sounded so nice and quaint and quiet.

Anyway, welcome to LBT and feel free to ask around if you need anything at all.

Hi There,

I was also banded by Dr. Morand from Augusta too ;-) . I was banded 7/27/04, and love it. I have lost 154 lbs. I am slowing down with the weight loss now, but I have to get moving again.

You have done a great job with your weight loss so far!!!!!! Woooo Hooo:)

Do you make it to the support groups in Augusta very often??? I try to, but with my work schedule, I haven't been for some time.

Well take care, keep in touch

Suzan

Suzan,

Wow, with your weight loss you must be at goal. I have about another 50 pounds to go. I do make the Augusta groups on Wednesday nights most of the time. They help.

I am from standish maine and had my surgery with Dr Aslam in Augusta. Have not had much luck with the weight loss and now he has retired and I am stuck with out a doctor. I called your doc but they wanted a large program fee...

I didn't realize changing to a Doctor in the same practice would be an issue. I hope you can work something out because I think the support I get from them is great.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
