Fill anywhere between DC and NYC

Recommended Posts

I was filled two months ago in Italy by Dr Favretti and Segato, as a South African I had no choice as local options dont exist. To get my fill I am supposed to travel back to Italy, but the flight is long and the cost very high.

My company however is sending me to the USA next week for a week, I have one meeting in DC, one in Baltimore and one in New York City.

This has come up out of the blue, and I wasnt expecting to travel so this is very last minute.

Can anyone help with a name of a reasonably priced doctor (the South African currency really sucks - i had to save for a very long time to have the procedure) and someone who will see me on such short notice?

Thanks and btw I have lost 20kg in 2months since the op, but the weekly weight loss is slowing down now (I hope a fill would accelerate that again)

Hello BNJ,

I read your post and may have a solution for you. There is a new facility dedicated to patients that need an adjustment of their gastric bands. They are located about 30 minutes from NYC, in Florham Park NJ. The facility is known as The Banding Centers of America. You can contact them at 973 805 9977. Hope this is helpful. Check out their web site: www.BandingCentersOfAmerica.com

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
