Anyone struggle with nausea?

Recommended Posts

I have been banded for 6 months and have had CONSTANT nausea for about 5 or 6 days. Besides right after surgery...has anyone dealt with this??? I called the doctor and they are going to call me back. It has been about 6 weeks since my last fill...so I doubt that has anything to do with it.

Thanks for the reply...I am going on day 6 now and no resolve. I am getting to the point where I can hardly eat. I went to my pcp today and he ran some tests for my liver, pancreas, and gallbladder.

I called my surgeons office...they are three hours away and they suggested that it was gas....as if.

Anyway...I was hoping maybe someone else had some experience in this area.

Hi:

I have issues with nausea and dizziness if my blood sugar gets too low. Another thing that can cause nausea is an inner ear thing.

I hope you feel better soon. Let us know how you're doing.

Take care.

Sue

Thanks a bunch Sue. All of my tests came back this morning and he said everything was in normal ranges. He thinks that I am having some acid issues in my stomach...something he said he sees alot with banded patients. He called in a RX for stomach acid. I dont have reflux or heartburn or anything...weird.

Thanks for the thoughts..

I was having kind of the same problem last week. It had been going on for a week or two. I would get nauseous after I ate supper. I don't know if it was because I ate to fast or ate to much at one sitting. I would gag a few times, and it went away. It hasn't done that this week, so hopefully it has passed.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
