Quick band question to those who have had their PS already

Recommended Posts

I am scheduled for a TT and AL in 2 weeks. The surgeon didn't mention it while I met with him, but should I have my band emptied prior to surgery, and if I don't did the swelling cause you to feel tight?

Thanks so much in advance!

I had my arms and boobies done in January and my TT done in March. I had no swelling issues in January but had to go for a small unfill in March (.3cc) because of swelling. I also gained 10 pounds and am going today to try and get my fill back. I was shutting down completely, though or I wouldn't have gone for an unfill.

Best wishes and congratulations. Could you post pictures and keep adding to your post as your journey continues? Send me a friend request and you can access my PS album.

I had tummy and boobs done but didn't have to be unfilled, am getting arms done tomorrow and still don't have to get unfilled. Guess it is up to surgeon as to whether you need to have that done or not.

Hi:

I have issues with anesthesia so I've been totally unfilled for my last two surgeries (gallbladder and tummy tuck). Thank goodness for being unfilled because I was vomitting alot after the Tummy Tuck and it really hurt! I got refilled about a month after tummy tuck and I was fine during that month.

Best wishes to you getting to the flat lands! I love my flat tummy.

Sue

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
