way to check your Dr.'s record?

Recommended Posts

Is there a way to check your Dr.'s record? A free way to make sure there are no bad reports on him. I think I made the right choice, but I want to know for sure. Does that make sense? Thank You, Sue

Every state has a medical board that you can look into - On the web you can find very general info. You may get more complete info by sending them a request. For your state try here

You could always go to www.obesityhelp.com and check out what others have said about their experiences with the surgeon you're considering.

If you haven't registered yet, make sure you do, then go to Local Resources, click on your state and check out the comments from other people.

I was going to suggest checking obesityhelp.com, too. That's where I looked up the surgeon I chose. It gives the info on the surgeon as well as reviews by his patients, which I found extremely helpful.

The IL one seems hard to use. I went to my state site plugged in my doctors name and up his info came. You can call his office and get his license number and try running that through the IL state on. There are also bunches of sites that will give you a whole profile...some of them start around $8.

Good luck,

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
