Nasuea !!!!!!!!!!!!! Please help

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys, I got banded on 04/02 (last Friday). I have done pretty well so far with the exception of the normal gas pain and discomfort.

However, this mornin, I woke up feeling very naseaous, I also started my TOM (time of month) overnight. I am not sure if there is any relation to my nausea. I am still on liquids and at this moment I cannot phatom having another Protein drink. I have been sipping on calorie free lemonade to cut down on the naseauted feeling.

I have called my doctor and left a message. Any advise from the vetrans will help.

I wish I could offer more help but I was one of the lucky ones that didn't have any nausea. I think the only time was the first day and they had given me Finnegran tablets for at home. Is there any way maybe they can prescribe some for you? There is also an over the counter nausea medication you can take - I can't remember what it's called but if you ask the pharmacist, they'll tell you.

I got my TOM about 4 days post surgery and so I did feel like crap for a few days. Make sure your Protein drinks have some Iron in them because you're already on reduced calories and with the TOM, you lose some Iron. That could make you feel crappy, too.

Hope you feel better soon! I'm a little over 2 weeks out and feel great. It's one of those things where you'll wake up and all of the sudden feel 100% better. I promise!

Hi there... I hope you feel better soon... I have been post op 8 months almost to the date... and my TOM started last night and I am having this too right now... so I think it has more to do with that-- my band seems to tighten up and swell during those TOM.... now not all my TOM do I get the nausea-- but it sure is happening right now...

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
