Dr. Jayaseelan?

Dr J seems to be a popular guy in the Dallas area right about now. MsJoy (my wife) is going in for her stress test tomorrow (12-15) and if that is good, Dr J's scheduler has her penciled in for the 28th. Dr J was really nice and his PA, Arlene (I think) was fantastic. She and I got into a "discussion" about doing hernia surgery at the same time as the lap band...LOL

Just got back from a fill with Dr Jay and he is great. He sat and talked about everything before we started, explained how and why things are done and never made me feel silly. He's a cool cat!

Spydr, MsJoy has her date, Dec 28th at 7:15 am at Pine Creek Medical Center, out off of Harry Hines. She did the stress test today and everything was fine, cleared for surgery.

Sounds like MsJoy will be the first of the day. I went to Medical City Dallas and was in by 6:15a, surgery at 7:15 and I was home by 1p. Good deal!

Works for me, we'll have a two hour drive to get back home. I guess I can tie her over the front fender like a field dressed deer. What do you think? *grin*

You're both right...I'm from southeast Texas! Actually, I was thinking of having her a nice comfy pillow and maybe an air mattress in the back of the Explorer. She could climb in and nap all the way home. What do you think?

MyKds - If you don't mind, what itty bitty town is that? I may surprise you with where I'm from.

That would be Ferris? I have paid a traffic ticket or 2 there! I'm from Corsicana.

I told my wife I should have added, "and it isn't Ferris." I live in Fairfield, but I was born in the old Corsicana Hospital.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
