Keep working the program, make sure your not cutting your calories too much, and relax plateaus happen. (I stayed at 185 for six months.)

I've found going all protien for a few days kick starts the weightloss again. Also, just recently, I started a weightlifting class in addition to the other workout classes I already do. That seems to have gotten me past a plateau that had lasted for a few weeks.

Hi, I agree with Laptastic too. I've been at a plateau since first of December -- I got to 100 lbs. lost and couldn't get any more off although I was exercising like crazy - 120 mins. a day 7 days a week and eating exactly the same as I did previously when I consistently lost 2 lbs. per week average. One week ago I started taking Liquid Protein before my workouts and I am doing actual weight machines -- I was doing exercise (lots of cardio) and some light free weights, but started weight machines a week ago. Got up and weighed in this morning and lost 2 lbs. which is the first time in months I've lost more than a couple of ounces for a week. Someone told me that if you ingest 18 grams of Protein before you work out your metabolism increases -- not sure if it's true, but it did work for me. Good luck and I hope this might help you so you don't stall for months as I did. By the way, I tried a lot of other things during this plateau (like eating more calories, exercising a little less each week) and nothing happened -- in fact a couple of times I'd gain a pound from doing that.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
