I had my surgery in Mexico, but I'm in need of a fill. It's been a year, and I'm still losing weight but it's verrrrryyyy slooooow. And I get full, but I don't stay full for very long at all - maybe 20 minutes.

Anyway, I was going to Mexico for my aftercare, but now that a passport is required, and I have to drive 3-4 hours (I live near Odessa, TX), plus arrange transport from/into Mexico, which is another $110, I've decided it would be easier, quicker, and cheaper to get fills in Dallas.

Does anyone know of a doctor in the DFW area that will do a fill under fluoro on a Mexico surgery? Please please please let me know! Thanks!

You might call Dr. Adam Smith in Forth Worth. Qualify For Fort Worth LAP-BAND® Weight Loss Surgery

He does the fills with x-ray right in the office. Not sure if he'll do fills on mexican bands, but it's worth a shot.

Dr. Smith is partnered with True Results.... They have an office in Hurst, which would be about an hour closer than the Richardson office. They are who I did all of my insurance work through before they handed me off to Dr. Smith.

I see Dr. Kim in Colleyville. All of my fills have been with fluoro and haven't had any problems. Their number is 581-6100.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
