Wow! if I drink another protein shake

Recommended Posts

today is my third day post op and i am dying. i'm so tired of the shakes, too, and am not getting in all the other liquids (water, broth, etc.) that they want me to be getting in. today i gave in and had 2.5 oz of gerber 1st foods organic applesauce. nothing bad happening and it did give me a little bit of a fuller feeling as i feel as if i'm starving. it was pretty liquidy to begin with and i made it moreso by swishing it all around in my mouth before swallowing. i cannot wait til my follow up appt on the 24th when they finally move me to mushies. it will be like heaven!!!!

I just bought the greatest little single serve Hamilton Beach blender. I have not even been the smoothie route until today. Yoplait, milk, fruit and Protein Powder is yummy.

i have that hamilton beach mini blender thing and it's still sitting in it's box. sadly, i'm not much of a smoothie person. but i did just place two online orders for some new Protein powders for me to try. i ordered some from bariatriceating.com and some from Unjury. hopefully i'll find something new in all those that i like. i'm looking forward to trying unflavored ones that i can mix in with other foods and the chicken Soup one from unjury.

I'm 7 days post op and feeling like normal except for the tenderness around the incisisions. I'm losing weight which is great but I do miss all the food mentioned above because I think there is a psychological aspect to it. Missing the taste of food, chewing and what food meant. I went out to eat with my husband and kids and there I sat, drinking tea, wanted to cry but got through it, barely. lol. I've been drinking a shake in the morning, shake for lunch and dinner an bowl of Tomato Soup and sugar free popcicle. 10 lbs down. WE CAN DO THIS!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
