Hello bandsters!! Today I had my 1st fill 3cc in a 10 cc band.....My nurse did it (my doctor barley said hello to me) My nurse has had gastric bypass and her daughter the lap band! She found the port on the 1st try! I'm on a liquid diet today and mushies tomorrow. I can start solid food Saturday. I'm very excited for my journey to begin! I have lost 20lbs since pre-op diet 1/28/10. During post op (after 12 days) I begun solid foods (I'm a cheater) I was allowed salad and soft chicken and fish I ate mostly that but did take bites of other solid food from time to time. I am anxious to see how I tolerate (or don't tolerate) solid foods now. I can't to see more weight loss.I pray everything goes smoothly!! Let me know what you think or if you have any advice.....Thanks everyone!:blushing:

Welcome! One piece of advice I have is that you may not notice a difference after this first fill. Seems it takes most people several fills before they reach restriction. It took me 3 fills.

I also advise you cut your food in small pieces and chew chew chew. At least for me, this was a very tough thing. I was so used to shoveling food in my mouth.

Also, drink lots and lots of Water, at least 64 oz. Starting an excersise program would also be great. It took a couple months for me to get started on working out. Now it's a matter of habit.

Congrats on your surgery! Keep us posted on how you are doing.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
