I cannot believe that I haven't been able to break my habit of snacking late at night. I now snack on nutritious things or things that don't have many calories. Such as fat free cottage cheese and sugar free Jello. But it depresses and distresses me that here I am at the computer each night munching along. I am getting better about it all, but tonight I just needed to vent and send these thoughts out into computerland, hoping that as I type some magic will flow back into me!!

I feel your pain. I don't eat in the middle of the night, but I always seem to need a little something before bed. I know it breaks the so-called rules, but I can't seem to stop. There is always more behavior modification to work on!

Well it sounds as though you've got half the problem beat. At least you're snacking on good foods instead of things that are bad for you. I think its important to take baby-steps. You have been "programming" yourself to be this way your whole life and its going to take a while to "De-program" you; if that makes any sense... keep up the good work...

That's great you are snacking on healthy options. Do you keep track of what you eat (calories et...)? Maybe you can just factor in a late night snack into your plan of eating for the day.

I seldom eat at night, but I fight the snacking urge between Breakfast and lunch as well as between lunch and dinner. Water helps with it so I just keep trying.......Hugs

Hot tea works wonders for me... especially if I add a tiny bit of sweetener. Feels like I'm having "something" if that makes any sense at all.

Other than that... I think a planned snack is a good idea-- and some low or fat free cottage cheese with maybe a little fruit is great-- low fat, high Protein.

I don't think that having A snack is a problem. It's when it becomes constant grazing that it's a problem.

Thank you all for everything you've said. It helps to know I'm not alone in this journey.

I went to this other thread and I recommend everyone looking at it. FANTASTIC list!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
