Did you loose weight between surgery and first fill?

Recommended Posts

I lost 15 lbs the first week post-op, another 6 lbs the 2nd week. When I started soft foods the 3rd week, I gained back 5 and stayed there for the next 3 weeks until I had my first fill. After the fill, I lost 11 lbs in 14 days, so my fill was the jump-start that I needed.

I had Lap Band Surgery May 2, 2005. April 19th, 2005 I went on the Pre-Op liquid diet and lost 23 lbs before surgery. After surgery until my first fill, July 6th, 2005 my total weight loss was 57 lbs. As of now my loss is at 85 lbs total. The lap Band is wonderful. I am so very thankful for it. I have more to lose yet and I hope to have 100 lbs lost by January 1, 2006. It really works!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I lost 19.5 pounds between surgery (9/19) and my first fill (11/2). I haven't weighed since then as I keep myself on a schedule with the scale. My doctor was pleased with the weight I had lost, and told me if this fill didn't make much of a difference, to come back before Christmas. Digging through the freezer the other night, I found a box of the Light Hot Pockets I had bought way pre-surgery. I made one. OUCH. Severe pain when I ate this. So, yup, I have a little more restriction and I'm pleased with that.

I was banded on 9/8/05, I had no preop diet. I have lost 26 pounds since the day of surgery and I have my first fill in the 2nd week of November 05.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
