does any one know of ant doctors that are in network for anthem blue cross PPO. I just got approved for the lap band and the surgeon that was approved for is out of network. and that will be more out of pocket if i have him do the surgery. Do i have a choice in picking my surgeon if I want an in network doctor.:wink2:

I live in Los Angeles and I have anthem blue cross. The first doc I went to was out of network too. Then I went to two other docs. Try Matthew Lublin or Morad Tourah. Dr. Lublin's surgery center would not take A/BC when I had my surgery in June 2009 but he was signing up with Cedars so it should be okay now. Lublin is in Santa Monica. Dr. Tourah did my surgery. He is in Beverly Hills. Dr. Tourah is crazy busy but a very nice man. I would try Dr. Lublin first and make sure you tell them about your insurance just in case he did not complete the process to have surgical privileges at Cedars. Hope this helps.

Hi and good luck with your surgery.

Check out Dr Jeremy Korman in Marina Del Rey: Bariatric Surgery | Los Angeles | Orange County

He did my surgery and I had the same insurance. He is a center of excellence for them and a provider. Love his him as well as his staff.

I agree with "tke", Dr. Korman's office is really good and the people are great. I went there too but there was a problem with my insurance. I have BC/BS, our base office is in NY so in CA the insurance turns into anthem BC. So just be sure to have them check your insurance first. I liked Dr. Korman a lot and was very disappointed when he could not do my surgery.

I have Anthem BC/BS as well. If you go to their website www.anthem.com go to the find a doctor tab. Here you can search under surgeons to find in network providers. Hope that helps you.

Which state do you live in? I have that insurance also, and I have a list of hospitals that they approve. They don't approve it by doctors, but by hospitals. Also, they should send a packet of information that does include the hospitals that they approve.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
