I accidently did a backflip when I hit the Water off a water slide at Great Wolf Lodge at my daughter's birthday party. I immediately had what felt like a stitch in my side a few inches below my port. The rest of the week it would still hurt if I was on my feet a lot. I went to the doctor and they did an ultrasound to make sure I hadn't flipped my port, which I didn't. The doctor said it sounded like I pulled one of the stitches out of the muscle. He said there are several stitches, so the port should be OK as long as I'm careful. He said the muscle needs time to heal. My question is: has anyone else pulled a stitch loose? If so, how long did it take before the muscle healed? It has been 10 days and it still hurts when I'm on my feet for a while, especially when I try to excercise. I have only lost one pound since this happened. Before this I had finally found my sweet spot and was consistantly losing 2 pounds a week. I hate that this has stalled my progress.

Well, I have not had this problem, but my doc made me wait 4 weeks post op to add back any excercise other than cardio. So I would think it would be normal to still be sore 10 days after your accident. Also, if you are in pain, you probably are not getting as much excercise as you did preinjury. I bet once you are healed, you will get back on track.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
