Hi, I am Alice from WV. I had my LapBand done Feb 4th. Since surgery I have lost 7 lbs, and my pre-Op weight loss is 18 lbs, for a grand total of 25 lbs. I feel good about my self. I am taking mostly liquids, and bit of soft foods. Had 2 times, where I must have ate too ,much too fast. That was not pleasant. Becoming more aware of how I chew my food, and relearning to feel when I have had enough.

Hi Alice, Welcome to LBT. You are doing great. Congrats on the weight loss. When I first started solids I had a hard time getting use to chewing and taking small bites. I am 6 weeks post op now and haven't been stuck in awhile. You'll get the hang of it.

Hi Alice!

Where are you in WV? I live in St. Albans and I just have to get my psych eval done before the doc can submit the paperwork to insurance. Getting kind of antsy though. lol I am going to Dr. Bali in South Charleston. Welcome to the forum!

I am from WV as well. I live in Princeton, but I am having my surgery in Charleston, by Dr. Sam Rossi. I am only the second month into my six month supervised diet. I am nervous and excited. It is good to hear from people so close to home. Good luck to all of you.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
