I just got the word today, my surg is scheduled for April 1st..That's only 6 days before my classes start back. I think I should be ok.

Anyone else having surg in April???

My doc wants me on SugarBuster's 2 weeks prior to surg. How about you?

April 5th. Everytime I think about it I start getting all light headed! Don't know if that's good or bad!

I think that may be normal.:scared2:

Our dates will be here before we know it. I tend to lose very slowly, so I am hoping that between the band and my working at it, that this 120+ lbs comes off steadily.

I believe I have right at 100 lbs to lose. I feel like I've gained since my last weigh in at the consult, but then again, after the pre op diet, I don't really know what the actual number will be.

My consult was so long ago that I'm not totally sure either.

My doc is requesting SugarBusters as the pre op diet. How about yours? We can hold each other's hands thru this...

I am hoping for an April surgery date! I have a stress test and echocardiogram on 3/12/10 which is my last thing to do before submitting to insurance. I have to do a 4 week pre-op diet too.

Hey HappyTrucker280,

I went to a seminar on 12/14/09 so it really hasn't been very long. It just seems like it has!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
