MIssCherita I have not started any diet...need to go protien shopping. My Doctors instructions say 3 days before surgery. Any suggestions on good Protein shakes?

Well my doctor suggested I buy their Opti-fast for 5 days before and I did but I wanted to start a little earlier so I wouldn't cheat so I grabbed a box and went to Walmart! I picked the Special K Protein shake because everything was pretty much the same. My doctor told me not to get the mixes because the powders and get stuck in your throat and I don't want to give them ANY reason to postpone my surgery!

Welcome Cynthia & Lisa

And good luck Cherita with the pre-op

I'm on day three and in all honesty it hasn't been that bad, although I have to admit I cheated tonight and had a bite (one small bite) of grilled chicken. Otherise I have been sticking with my protien shakes, cottage cheese, broth and Water...a little yogurt tossed in for good measure. Day one was bad. I was craving a Whopper Jr. like nobody's business, but I stayed strong and just pushed through it. Day two was not that bad and today (aside from the bite of chicken) has been the same. I know that this is the best thing for me to become a better, healthier person, so I will push through and I KNOW you can all do it as well.

Best of luck to you my fellow soon to be Bandsters.

Hello everyone! My surgery is tomorrow, 2/19. I'm very nervous yet so excited about finally getting this done. I'd love to stay in contact since we're all within a few days. Good luck to you all!

I'm Feb. 23 as well. In the beginning, it seemed so far off and now suddenly, here it is, next week. I have my final appointment Monday to go over what to expect (again!) and get my prescriptions for nausea and acid.

Honestly, I'm more nervous about my reaction to the anesthesia then the aftereffects of the surgery. General anesthesia makes me sick and it seems to get worse each time I go under. The last time I was pretty miserable when they woke me us. I can't imagine vomiting after this kind of surgery, so I'm hoping the anti-nausea drugs are really good!
