Hello everyone! My surgery is tomorrow, 2/19. I'm very nervous yet so excited about finally getting this done. I'd love to stay in contact since we're all within a few days. Good luck to you all!

Yeah! You have to let us know how everything goes... leave no detail out!!!

A very warm hello to all in this thread!

I'm scheduled for the 23 of Feb also!

My emotions are going from one extreme to the other....high excitment to big 'scaredy-cat' moments?!?!?.... I guess any big life changing decision can do this, hey?'

all the best to each of us!

Helloooooooo Fairylight! I think we all are scared... Our lives will def. be a lot different with in the next week!!

Hi everyone! I just returned home from the hospital. I was first case 7am on friday, had to be there for 530am. Preop went well and they took me promptly into OR on time. Last thing I remembered was laying there as they adjusted things, the bright light over me, and them telling me to breath thru the mask. Next thing I knew it was 900 and I was waking up in recovery. I went in hoping for the single incision but ended up with the one just above bellybutton and a tiny one just under sternum. He needed the second to help move the liver out of the way as it didn't shrink as much as he hoped (I didn't have full time for pre op diet due to short notice in booking the date). Then I had to wait for my room on floor to open. They kept IV fluids running, gave me IV reglan, pepcid and abx. I finally gave in for pain med (chose the toradol instead of narcotic dilaudid) and it worked great. (only needed 2 doses total, one at 4am today and one at 1030 after going to xray for the barium swallow). Pain wasn't too bad, but I felt mostly like bad cramping and tenderness if I touched abdomen. I am still swollen and almost looked pregnant...had to joke with them telling them its supposed to make me get skinny, not look fatter!

So far i'm doing good here at home, hubby is picking up my scripts for liquid reglan, chewable simethicone, and tylenol with codeine liquid. Hopefully I wont need them but want them ready just in case. I read a lot on here about getting gas x strips, so I have them also. Best advice I can give....make sure you WALK...WALK...WALK...THEN WALK SOME MORE!! I think it really helped.

On liquids since last thursday ...few more days to go lost about 14 lbs already ..takes everything out of me not to cheat lol ..but looking at the scale is way worth it :-) Cant wait to get the surgery done and over with though ....

@ Laura , im glad you feeling ok after Surgery ...i have mine Feb 25th excited but very nervous too

Hello Ladies

I think I am the only guy scheduled for the 23rd. Hang in there with those liquid diets. I have been on the optifast liquid diet since January 7th as you can tell from my ticker I have lost 51 lbs It does work. I think we're all going to do fine. I wish everybody the best of luck.

Thanks for the kind words ladies. We are almost there. We got a pretty good size storm heading our way on monday. Snow and freezing rain. I hope the roads aren't bad tues morning. There is nothing going to stop me from getting to that hospital. I will borrow the neighbors snow mobile if I have to.

We have that storm heading here Tuesday (my surgery day!) and beyond! My BF said he'll get me there no matter what LOL

Ice & snow here in Kansas City. Will arrive tomorrow for surgery @ 8 a.m. Surgery @ 10:30 a.m.

We will all be banded this week.

Yippee.

One more day. What is everybody doing to keep there mind occupied today? I have the day off from work so I am exercising and cleaning house. If I don't keep busy all I do is sit and think about tomorrow.
