Band might be removed in 2 weeks because of Band erosion 4 months after being banded

Recommended Posts

So I might be getting my band removed for 3 months so my stomach can recover from a very small band erosion. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to adjust back into life without a band?

Any suggestions on how NOT to gain any weight? Do I have any hope in hell of losing weight during that time? Are any of you being rebanded? Why or why not?

Hello! My band was removed in July due to erosion. It was unexpected. I instantly felt hungry. When I healed - I went to my weight management doctor and demanded to be put on medication to help with my hunger. I have been on Meridia (and when I realized that didn't work for me) I went on Phentermine. I have not gained any weight back. I haven't lost the remaining 40 that I needed to lose, however; I haven't gained. It is a grieving process for me still to this day. I miss my band, but my loss was unexpected. Expect to be hungry immediately, and expect to eat exactly the same. Focus on your band diet, and do something immediately to help with your hunger! Also keep up with your exercise! Good luck!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
