It's been 2 years since we were banded. How is everyone doing (good or bad).

I myself have pretty much struggled almost since day one, but I'm going to keep trying!

Hey~

It will be 2 yrs on Feb 26 for me and I am down 116. The first year was pretty good. This past year has been kinda crappy. Just due to life. Life is always throwing us curve balls. I have good weeks and bad weeks. Right now I am on a plateau. If anybody has any suggestions, it would be appreciated.

Hey Shortney! Welcome :) You know that's always been me too. It's always this or that going on and I don't wanna do this or I don't have time for that.

I really don't know what to suggest other than hang in there. That's all I ever do. I am making a new commitment though for 2010 and so far so good. I'm on my way back down, but not without struggle!

:) All the best!!

HEY YOU VV'S WHERE ARE YOU?

I'm here.

Thanks for posting this. Today would have gone by without me realizing that it is my actual bandiversary. Two whole years! Wow.

It has been quite a ride. I am so grateful for my band and I'm counting on it to help me get back to where I was and beyond after I have this baby.

2 years for me this Thursday. It's a little crazy to think back to just 2 years ago - I was a totally different person, both inside and out!

I haven't been here in forever and I am hoping that everyone is still doing good on their journey. I am down 132 pounds with a few more to go but weight loss is pretty slow these days. I have gotten to the point where I forget about the band, it is just part of me now and I am so so so glad that I did this for myself.

I'm starting the next step of my journey in April and getting a lower body lift and having the extra skin from my arms removed. I am scared to death about the actual surgery but at the same time I can't wait for the results!

I wish all of you the best of luck!!

Melanie:smile:

It's hard to believe my 2 year bandiversary was last week. I believe on the 28th?

It has been a weird two years. I gained about 18 lbs back during the summer when I was eating a lot of Hormel Chili. Bad mistake. With all that sodium, I wouldn't lose anything. I also stopped working out. So, around December I cut the chili completely out of my diet and got a gym membership to 24 hour fitness. I have dropped that 18 lbs and a few more on top of that. I feel like I'm back on track. I don't think about the band anymore.. it's just part of my life now and I don't miss anything I use to be able to eat like Burgers and stuff like that. I do miss scrambled eggs though, but I can still eat sushi with no problems. Thank goodness.

Anyway, I think about this site a lot.. I use to be hard and heavy on it, but with losing my job after 13 years and starting anew without the same perks I had before (ie, the ability to get on line whenever I wanted), internet usage has taken a backburner.

I still feel like this surgery has been a blessing and I know that had I not gotten it done, I'd probably be 350-400 lbs now. At the rate I was going, I was gaining 5-8lbs a month.

I started off a size 28 and I can now wear some 18's and 20's are semi-baggy. Is it scary to say I wouldn't care if I lost anymore?? lol

Hope everybody is doing well...

Not at all. I'm in a 14, and still really 30lbs from goal, and don't care.

I'm healthier and more fit than I've ever been in my life. How can I complain about that?

Hey girls, congrats on all your success!

I, unfortunately, am a failure story. I lost 30 pounds in the first six weeks and haven't lost a pound since. (Actually, I've lost five or six more but that's it.) I have had frequent fills, cannot eat much, I feel like the surgery itself has done for me what it promised as far as restriction but there's something screwed up with my body that won't let me lose weight. So I feel like I'm just the biggest, fattest screw up in the universe.

I thought maybe if I posted that someone else might come out of the woodwork and let me know I'm not the only one who has had sucky results.

Hi everybody! I haven't been around in quite awhile and thought I'd check in on you guys. It's hard to believe it has been two years since we all had surgery.

The last year has been very discouraging, weight wise. After I lost my baby girl last February, I didn't care about losing weight at all. I blamed myself for what happened to her and I think I ate to punish myself. I was able to maintain my weight fairly well, until the fall. Between the holidays, grief, and a medication change, I gained about 30 pounds between October and January. I've been very upset and disappointed about this.

However, there isn't much I can do about it right now. I'm pregnant again. I'm 13 weeks now and due in October. We wanted to get pregnant again so badly, it took several months of trying, and I was to the point of giving up for a little while and trying to lose some weight first. We're hoping and praying for the best and very nervous as we get closer to the point where we lost Sydney (20 weeks). The doctors are taking precautions this time. Last time we had no idea something like that would happen.

Glad you are all doing well. I'm going to try to pop in here more often.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
